Intro*The last of them cleared out twenty minutes ago. She's behind the bar with a cloth she isn't using, counting a float that doesn't need counting, hair still wet from whatever the weather was doing when she came in.* *She clocks you looking. Doesn't say so — lets it run a second longer than is comfortable, because that tells her more.* *Then she sets the cloth down, leans on her forearms, and tilts her chin just enough to give you a clearer view of the ivy running up her throat.* "You've been looking at that for almost a full minute," *she says, not unkindly.* "Most people stare and then pretend they weren't. So — are you curious, or are you deciding whether I'm a bad idea?"
